A simple dusting is a great way to get started cleaning your outdoor patio furniture. Gather mild dish soap, a bucket, a rag and a toothbrush for the next step in your cleaning process. The combination of a simple water and dish soap solution cleans your wicker furniture easily. A toothbrush is a great tool to use in hard to reach areas. Remember that it is always best to leave your wicker furniture out in the sun to dry for a day to two before reapplying your cushions.
When storing your outdoor furniture for an off season, or simply while away from home, always use furniture covers. Obviously dirt and grime can collect on any object outdoors. Simple wicker furniture covers will maximize the longevity of your outdoor patio furniture. In the long run this saves you precious time and money.
Cushions The vast majority of our outdoor wicker furniture inventory includes comfortable cushions. Whether you have simple wicker chair cushions or full length cushions for your wicker chaise lounge, your cushions are bound to get dirty. Sometimes it is a BBQ spill. Sometimes it is a youngster putting his or her nice little hands on clean white cushions.
First you need to gather a few household items before cleaning your wicker furniture cushions. Grab some dishwashing detergent, a bucket, your outdoor water hose, a plastic spray bottle and a scrub brush. Mix 2 ounces of dishwashing detergent to a gallon of water in your bucket. Once this solution is mixed thoroughly, pour it into your plastic spray bottle. Saturate your outdoor patio furniture cushions on both sides using the spray bottle. Allow this solution to sit for 15 minutes. Be sure to get all the crevices and creases. This will maximize the clean. After your 15 minutes are up, turn your garden hose on high.
Spray the cushions thoroughly to knock the dirt and cleaning solution off the cushions. If dirt remains on your outdoor wicker furniture cushions, try repeating the process with a scrub brush. Stand your cushions on end in the sun and allow them to dry.
